In the early hours of 8 October 2026, Patekar had severe pain in his chest at his home in Goa. A medical team was then dispatched to his home, where he was found unconscious. After CPR was administered, he was taken to the Manipal Hospital in Goa, where he was declared dead at 5:20 a.m. due to cardiac arrest.[34][35][36]
